#SalmanMisquoted May Trend, But Salman Khan Should Just Apologise For His Rape Comment

After Salman Khan’s quote trivialising rape during a press interaction for his upcoming film Sultan went viral and sparked outrage, an audio clip from the event has now been released.

The clip suggests that Salman acknowledges his insensitive reference, and says, “I don’t think I should have.”

Here’s the full audio clip released by Pinkvilla in which he says:

When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out….I don’t think I should have (seconds of silence). It feels like the most difficult….I couldn’t take steps. I couldn’t take steps.

But how about an apology instead? It’s good that the actor figured out soon enough that he had made a huge mistake, but an apology should have been his response. In fact, the only person to apologise so far has been his father Salim Khan.

Also let’s also not forget about the journalists around him at that time, who laughed when he talked about feeling “like a raped woman”. What was so funny?

And instead of an apology, the actor’s ardent fans are presently out on social media trying to fix the damage by ensuring the trend for the day on Twitter is #SalmanMisquoted. So we have tweets such as the ones mentioned below are doing the rounds in which they justify his statement:
