Having arrived on Twitter six years back, Salman Khan already has a massive following of over 16 million on the micro blogging site, and while he has been making some noise on the social media site, father Salim Khan has joined the ranks of twitterati with a bang, getting almost 10,000 followers within a few hours.

The writer who gave Indian cinema some of the best films in decades, dedicated his first words on Twitter to the debate over Bharat Mata Ki Jai, about which his former partner Javed Akhtar also contributed some strong words in the Rajya Sabha.

He reiterated Mohan Bhagwat’s words about making India so great that people raise the slogan themselves, and called for change, as Salman Khan welcomed his father on Twitter.

Bhagwat’s statement came after a controversy took shape over Asaduddin Owaisi’s response to him saying that people in India should be told to say Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
