I think I speak for most girls when I say that ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by beauty queens and models. Getting a chance to walk down the ramp or featuring on a magazine cover seemed like the dream back then! Even today, if you ask the 6-year-old me, I’d be exhilarated if I ever get these opportunities.
Well, looks like Elle Australia read my mind because with this month’s cover, they have fulfilled not only mine, but the dream of thousands of women.
This month’s revolutionary cover of the magazine does not feature any high-profile celeb. It features you! If you haven’t figured out already, this month’s Elle cover is a mirror.
Magazine editor Justine Cullen chose to skip glamorous models and celebs for the faces of readers by covering the issue with a mirror-like film.
The idea was originally executed by Elle Brazil earlier this year. The magazine also features women aged from 1 to 100 in a photo essay called We Are Women where they talk about what being a woman means to them today.

Elle has always been a champion for women’s rights and is known for challenging beauty standards of the industry. Earlier this year, the magazine featured a breastfeeding mother with her son on the cover to normalise breastfeeding.
