Avengers: Endgame has finally brought an end to the 10-year-long journey of sheer superhero glory. The record-breaking film closed out the current chapter of the expansive MCU that began with Iron Man in 2008.

So, while Endgame a bittersweet end to the Infinity Saga, it also marks a new phase for future MCU films. Here are 7 movies that will (and in some cases, probably) release after Endgame.

1. Spider-Man: Far From Home

Far From Home is the first movie on Marvel’s plate, after Avengers: Endgame marks the end of Phase 3 in the MCU. The film will not only give fans a fresh new Marvel film after Endgame breaks our hearts and blows our minds, but will also officially induct fans to Phase 4 of the MCU.

The sequel to the 2017 movie will see Peter Parker and his friends summer-vacationing in Europe, where he’ll face a new foe – Mysterio.

2. Black Widow

Fans have been demanding a solo Black Widow movie ever since she was first introduced in The Avengers. The production synopsis which was released a while back suggests that the movie will be a prequel set somewhere between 2005 and 2006, placing it just a few years ahead of Iron Man in the MCU timeline.

This is what the reported synopsis says –

At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.

There aren’t enough details about the movie right now but according to Production Weekly, the film’s working title is Blue Bayou. Its production is set to begin in June 2019, in the United Kingdom.

3. Black Panther 2

Black Panther was quite possibly one of the biggest blockbuster hits of 2018. So it goes without saying that the studio did everything in its power to make a sequel happen.

As it comes to what we can expect from Black Panther 2, we’re in the dark as T’challa was turned to dust in Infinity War. The target release date for the movie is unknown, though it could be the mystery Marvel movie set for February 12, 2021.

4. Doctor Strange 2

Given the mystical and magical nature of Doctor Strange, there are pretty much endless possibilities for the plot of Doctor Strange 2 (see what we did there?) With the director from the first movie helming the sequel, we can rest assured that the movie will be in safe hands.

5. The Eternals

One of the most exciting future films for comic books fans has to be The Eternals.

IGN

The Eternals basically are an ancient race created as a direct result of experimentation by the Celestials. These supreme beings were initially introduced by The Collector during the events of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Reports suggest that the filming is set to begin in the United Kingdom this September, potentially putting it for Marvel’s November 6, 2020 release date.

6. Shang-Chi

The MCU broke new ground with Black Panther as the first Marvel movie to center around a black superhero. In the post-Endgame landscape, they intend to do the same with a film centered around an Asian superhero – Shang-Chi.

Den of Geek

For the uninitiated, Shang-Chi first appeared in Special Marvel Edition #15 and is often called the ‘Master of Kung Fu’. He is an extraordinary master of numerous unarmed and weaponry-based wushu styles. In recent years, he has become a prominent member of the Avengers and the Secret Avengers.

Just like Black Panther, Marvel plans to feature a largely Asian and Asian-American cast in the movie.

7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

All eyes are set on the return of the the gang of misfits that were turned to dust in Infinity War. And yes, they’ll actually return since James Gunn revealed that the movie is not set in the pre-snap era. There’s also a possibility that they will induct Adam Warlock who was teased in GOTG Vol. 2.

The director of the first two GOTG movies, James Gunn in an interview revealed that Vol. 3 will serve as the epic conclusion to the story he began in 2014. Considering that he steered the first two movies to a new height of brilliance, the third installment will hopefully be as impressive.
