Move Over Bollywood. Here Are 16 Indian TV Shows Which Gave Us Some Amazing Songs

Saumya Sahni

Hindi TV serials are mostly remembered for their plots, their protagonists and antagonists. But if you ask me, we also remember some shows for their soundtracks. The title tracks or the in-between-show tracks stay with us even years after the show goes off-air.

Here are some amazing tracks that our favourite shows gave us:

1. Remix

Tia, Ranveer, Anvesha and Yuvi formed the band Remix in the show and gave us a host of foot-tapping numbers. The original soundtrack was by Asma and we still can’t help but hum the song along even to this day.

2. Love Story, Dil Karta Hai Naadaniyan

Remember the opening theme song of Love Story? From the lyrics to the music to the singers, it was and still is pure magic!

3. Love Story, Teri Yaadein

This song went on to become the love anthem of us ’90s kids. That people play it on the guitar even today is a testimony to it’s popularity.

4. Left Right Left

Composed by Vishal-Shekhar, Left Right Left was one peppy track.

5. Dill Mill Gayye

Hum toh chale the dost banke, jaane kahan dill mill gayye! These lines do ring a bell, don’t they? Just like the doctors kept falling in love with each other on the show, we also fell for this song. It was sung by none other than Sonu Nigam, along with Indian Idol contestant Prajakta Shukre.

6. Miley Jab Hum Tum

Hulchul ho dil mein, miley jab hum tum! This song certainly brings us back to our college days.

7. Kitani Mohabbat Hai

Arjun and Arohi made a fantastic pair on the show and were a total hit. And so was the show’s title track.

8. Kaisa Ye Pyaar Hai

This was the first show which showed a rockstar on television. The title track with Kunal Ganjawala’s voice on the vocals left an indelible impact on our hearts.

9. Shararat

Just like the show, the title track was equally shararti! We liked the peppy voice behind the vocals and the lyrics were as quirky as the show.

10. Kyun Hota Hai Pyar

Shaan was the magical voice behind this number and Abbas Tryewala penned down the lyrics. Didn’t know that, did you?

11. Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi

Hum jaise lakhon hai, par Jassi jaissi? Koi nahi! The show’s title track defined Jassi’s character perfectly and we still remember each word.

12. Bade Achche Lagte Hain

Even though it was a rendition of the old song, this version by Shreya Ghoshal was equally melodious and created quite a buzz about the show.

13. Malgudi Days

If you don’t remember this track, well, you’ve had a sad childhood. Our childhood really wouldn’t have been the same had it not been for this tune.

14. Jungle Book

This is another track from our box of childhood memories. I’m sure you remember it word by word because we totally do.

15. Dekh Bhai Dekh

In Udit Narayan’s voice, this track only made us love the show a little more than we already did.

16. Kavyanjali

Now we don’t remember if you even remember this Ekta Kapoor show, but it sure did give us this nice song in KK’s melodious voice and Pritam’s music.

Well, looks like there is definitely more to Indian TV than monotonous storylines.
