On the silver screen, they play the role of dutiful and doting daughters-in-law, almost always draped in intricate sarees and adorned with heavy jewellery. But off-screen, these actresses are as stylish as their Bollywood counterparts. Their on-screen presence has very little to do with their real-life persona.

She still loves to dance, hang out with other stars from Indian television, and, like almost every celeb from our generation, is a pro at taking selfies. 

2. Sriti Jha (Pragya, Kumkum Bhagya)

Sriti has acted in a number of TV serials. Acting is her one true passion and she has worked hard to make a successful career out of it. Currently, she is the lead in Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV and stars opposite Shabbir Ahluwalia. 

She is a fun-loving person in real life and an amateur photographer. 

3. Mouni Roy (Shivanya, Naagin)

Mouni Roy is a true Bengali beauty of the Indian TV. She has acted in numerous serials so far and is currently playing the role of Naagin in the TV serial Naagin. She was also a contestant on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 7.

4. Drashti Dhami (Gayatri, Ek Tha Raja, Ek Tha Rani)

Drashti Dhami is a model, Tv actress and a dancer. The multi-talented person first rose to fame from her role Madhubala, opposite Vivian Dsena. Currently she portrays the role of a Queen, Gayatri in Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Raani.

7. Saanvi Talwar (Manvi, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum)

Saanvi Tanwar’s debut show is Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum. She is playing a singer who gets married to a rock star. She plays the role of a loving supporting wife. Previous to this she was a model and has done projects with PC Jewelers and many others. 

She loves horses and is a great rider. 

8. Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar (Ragini, Swaragini)

Tejaswi is from  a family of singers but she chose acting as a professional career. She has done her graduation in electronics and telecommunications engineering. Currently she plays one of the leads in Swaragini on Colors TV. 

She loves hanging out with her girl-gang and and has also appeared in Comedy Nights Live. 

9. Shweta Tiwari (Maa Thakurain, Begusarai)

Shweta Tiwari is no newbie to the Indian TV. She first appeared as Prerna in Kasauti Zindagii Kay and has dominated the Indian screen ever since. Currently she plays the role of a village leader in Begusarai on &TV. 

She has participated in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and loves to travel with her daughter. 

10. Saumya Tandon (Anita, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain)

11. Nia Sharma (Roshni, Jamai Raja)

14. Ragini Khanna (Suhana, Sasural Gendha Phool)

Ragini Khanna may not be active on TV right now but no-one can forget her as Suhana. The chirpy and strong-willed rich brat gets married into a loud, loving joint family and how she not only adjusts to the new atmosphere but also makes it her own, was something a lot of Indian girls related to at that time. She will always be our beloved Suhana.

15. Prachi Desai (Bani, Kasamh Se)

Prachi Desai now is a known name in the Bollywood industry but she started from the Indian TV only. A find of Ekta Kapoor, she debuted opposite Ram Kapoor in Kasamh Se and became a household name. She might not be on TV right now but she is still a beloved Bahu. 

She is a model and an actress now and has also sung a few lines here and there in her movies. She is also an amateur photographer.
