Deeply troubled with the ordeal, Emraan also co-wrote a book titled, ‘The Kiss of Life: How A Superhero and My Son Defeated Cancer‘ along with Bilal Siddiqi, which was published in 2016.

Amongst other things, the book talks about how the family dealt with the difficult situation they found themselves in, the guilt they felt and Ayaan’s cancer treatment.

In an interview, vividly shaken and confused, Emraan had mentioned how the family had absolutely no idea about the tumour.

“It didn’t anyway, in any way make any sense for us because there was no warning sign, there was no accompanying fever, there was no physical discomfort.”

Earlier, Emraan had said

“We thought it (the tumor) was putting on weight and I think the first thing we felt was a feeling of guilt. He was 3 years 10 months then and we’ve made the choices for this kid and where did we go wrong?”
