Known as Kunjikka and DQ in the Malayalam film industry, Dulquer Salmaan is more than just the son of a superstar. This young heartthrob paved his own way to success in the industry. Taking one thing at a time, he has played dynamic roles – from portraying a vagabond to a lover boy – to perfection.

1. This uber-talented actor graduated from Purdue University in Business Management, before he ventured into film industry.
In an interview, he confessed-
“I never wanted to come into films. But somewhere down the lane my life became monotonous and routine and I decided to give acting a try and here I am.”
2. Mani Ratnam’s ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’, a commercial hit starring Salman was remade by Karan Johar into ‘O.K. Jaanu’ starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
3. Other than being a dynamic actor, he has also tried his luck in singing.
Dulquer has sung three songs for his films – Johnny Mone Johnny (ABCD), Njan Poneanutta (Manglish) and Chundari Penne (Charlie) – and all of them worked their charm among Malyalam audience. Talk about a package, huh!
4. Just 44 days before the release of his debut film, he tied the sanctimonious knot in an arranged-marriage setup with a Chennai-based Architect, Amal Sufiya, on 22nd December, 2011.

5. He also worked as a business manager, and owned a web portal for trading cars.
6. He also remains actively involved in communal services. Dulquer is currently the Director of Motherhood, a Bangalore-based hospital.
He also heads a dental business in Chennai. Wow, wow.
7. Soon enough, he’ll be seen sharing screen space with Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar starrer, ‘Karwaan’ releasing on August 10th.
8. Dulquer is the only Malyalam actor to have ranked in the most desirable men of the country. Not even surprised.
In 2014, he was listed down as the Seventh-Most Desirable Man in Chennai. He also ranked 45th in Times Most Desirable Men 2014.
9. In the beginning of his career, Salmaan rejected roles offered to him by South Directors as he felt that he was yet to learn various aspects of movies, after which he did a short term course in cinema.
10. He received Filmfare Award for Best Debut Male (2013) for his first movie, ‘Second Show’; whereas he bagged the Best Actor Award for ‘Charlie’, in 2016.
He also recently received the Best Actor Critics award.
