Just a few days ago, Paresh Rawal had received flak for saying that activist-author Arundhati Roy should be tied to a jeep instead of a stone-pelter in Kashmir.
And even before the social media users could get over the controversy stirred up by the actor-turned politician, Twitter on Tuesday decided to suspend singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s account for using inappropriate language against women including JNU activist Shehla Rashid.

The 43-year-old singer took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to make an announcement about his decision.
Why is Sonu Nigam quitting Twitter?
The singer expressed his displeasure towards what he called was a “one-sided sham” on display on Twitter. He referred to incidents involving Rawal and Bhattacharya and said that the outrage was biased. He also said he was misinterpreted for his views on ‘Azaan’.

Hours after the announcement, the singer finally deleted his account.
He may have cited his reasons but perhaps his decision might be in solidarity with his colleagues.
