15 Bollywood Actors Who Are The Definition Of The Word ‘Unlucky’

Palak Nagpal

Bollywood runs on luck! While for some it shines really bright and really quick, for the rest it is nothing but a constant struggle to be acknowledged and recognized. This cinematic world has itself witnessed a number of good talents being washed away under the influence of their hard luck and also a number of terrible talents gaining unexpected limelight.

Here is a list of Bollywood’s most ill-fated stars.

Already a recognised actor in Tollywood, R. Madhavan made his Bollywood debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein but unfortunately couldn’t stay in our hearts for a very long time. Despite his incredible dialogue delivery and effortless acting in movies like Rang De Basanti, Guru and 3 Idiots, he could only appear in a multi-starrer movie and not carry a good movie on his own.

Be it epic comic timing in Bunty Aur Babli or his realistic performance in Guru, Abhishek Bachchan has always been a victim of hard luck. As all fingers instantly point to his rich Bachchan heritage even when he genuinely attempts to do good with cinema. So, I guess he is just plain unlucky then!

Yes! She has been critically acclaimed for movies like Welcome to Sajjanpur and Main Hoon Na. However, this quintessential Bollywood’s ‘girl next door’ could not ring a lot of bells for a long time and eventually faced serious disappointment in Bollywood.

Dia Mirza who entered the glamour world almost at the same time as Priyanka Chopra, could not maintain a very consistent position in Bollywood. As beautiful and ravishing as she is, her dazzling looks were not enough to make her stars shine bright in B-world.

Being the manager of one of the most successful production houses in Bollywood could not help him get mega-star fame in the cinema realm. After delivering a number of awful films, he gave in to his pathetic fate in acting.

Some of his popular films include Race , Hulchul, Dil Chahta Hai, Taal and Border. He has definitely mesmerized the audiences with his brilliant performances and magnetic screen presence but has not been much of a success. Although, his perseverance was worthy of appreciation but his efforts were not greatly recognized in Bollywood.

We cannot deny how enthralled we were with his interesting characterization and amazing screen appearance in New York and Johnyy Gaddaar. We were so strongly pulled by his enigmatic persona that we could never imagine Bollywood giving him a hard time. His hopes to make it big were grimly shattered and so were ours.

Son of famous producer, Vashu Bhagnani, Jacky Bhagnani made his acting debut with Kal Kisne Dekha Hai . His second acting gig in F.A.L.T.U was certainly not faltu as he fairly proved his acting skills gathering tons of praises on the way. However, since then, it has only been a series of low-key movies for him in Bollywood.

His magical looks and his incredible personality got almost all the females in the country to fall for him. Best known for his supporting roles in movies like Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots, Sharman Joshi has not been able to bag any successful lead movie to his credit. Hard luck!

Recognized for his pivotal roles in Golmaal 3 and Go Goa Gone, Kunal Khemu made his acting debut in the 90s as a child artist. However, Bollywood has not been really kind to his talent and his acting career was next to non-existent!

He proved his acting caliber as a child artist as early in 1987 as Mr. India released. After, his incredible performance in Kasoor, he has not been able to make a significant name for himself in Bollywood.

Known for his charming role in Saathiya and funny role in Grand Masti, Vivek Oberoi has proved his acting competency in all the movie genres. Nevertheless, his acting career has not been really stable in terms of delivering a single successful lead hero movie. He has been in Bollywood for around 15 years now and nothing much has changed.

We almost cannot articulate how much Ameesha Patel won our hearts after her innocent characterization in movies like Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Inspite of being featured as one of the sexiest women in India, she could not make a long way through Bollywood.

Star-son Kunal Kapoor, has definitely mustered plenty of appreciation for his dashing looks and amazing character portrayal in Rang De Basanti. However, perhaps Bollywood wants something more than a deadly combination of good acting and handsomeness from actors like him. Enough said!

The irony of Tushar Kapoor’s life is that after performing a series of roles in flop movies like Gayab or Kucch toh hai, his acting skills were only recognized in Golmaal where he played the role of a dumb guy. His dumbness really paid off and perhaps that is the only thing Bollywood accepted of him.

The ‘L’ in their Luck perhaps got exchanged with ‘F’. What do you think?
