If you thought that the Indian film industry is finally moving on from its problematic body-image issues after progressive films like Dum Lagake Haisha, think again. Anushka Shetty, who earned a lot of positive reviews for her performance in Baahubali 2, lost out a role in a multilingual project because she couldn’t lose five to eight kilos.
After the success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Anushka Shetty was all set to be paired with her Baahubali co-star, Prabhas in the multilingual project Saaho. However, according to recent developments, the makers have decided to drop Anushka from the film, reports India Today.
According to a report in Bollywoodlife, a source was quoted as saying, “Anushka was training hard for the role in Saaho. But her weight has become a bone of contention. She is still about five to eight kilo overweight. And this might cost her the film itself.”

Ever since the commencement of the project, the makers seem to have a problem with finalising the heroine. Earlier, Bollywood actors like Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani, Sonam Kapoor and Pooja Hegde were approached for the role.
Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malyalam in 2018.
