Anushka Sharma has always been under fire and blamed for Indian cricket team’s less than great performance. This time, she has been accused of preferential treatment by BCCI. Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer claimed that India selectors were serving her tea during the 2019 World Cup, earlier this year.

The Bollywood actor has broken her silence and spoken publicly for the first time against these accusations. She responded to all the allegations against her in a post on Instagram and Twitter.

She wrote that she always believed that silence is the best way to shut the mouths of people criticising her. But all through the years, her silence has been perceived as her approval to all the lies against her.

In her post, she talked about all the times when she was blamed for Virat’s performance and other things closely associated with Indian cricket.

She also opened up about being wrongfully accused of preferential treatment by the BCCI when she posed with Team India for a group picture.

Talking about the recent accusation when Farokh Engineer lashed out at the selection committee for serving her tea, she clarified that she attended just one match of the World Cup and sat in the family box and not the selectors’ box.

She concluded her post by saying that it’s not just the last ‘fake news’ about the selectors serving her tea that has upset her. All the fabricated stories upset her equally and she doesn’t want people to equate her silence with weakness.
