Actor Alia Bhatt turns 25 today.
While she is busy shooting for her next film and is currently away from home, her parents, actor Soni Razdan and director Mahesh Bhatt, took to social media to wish her on her special day.
Her mother took to Instagram to not only share a collage of her pictures but also to pen down a heartfelt letter for her daughter.
It reads,
“Your name had already been chosen in my head. Alia Knightly was a lovely British Indian model and when I read that name, I had decided if I had a girl we would call her Alia. Luckily your father agreed. I had no idea what the name meant then. It was many years later that I found out it means ‘exalted’. And that you most certainly are.”
For a young girl at 25, Alia has indeed done remarkably well for herself. She is now regarded as one of the finest talents in the world of cinema, but is also known to be a level-headed girl who is going about her work like a regular 20-something.
Her mother in her letter to Alia has some beautiful advice for her, that every mother would wish for their child.
“I wish you all the best as always… but I also wish that you keep your core self intact. Your special simple sweet self intact through all the craziness and the heady ups and the not so heady downs of life … don’t lose sight of who you really are inside. Because it’s that self that will be your guide and your most precious companion. Wish we were with you today…”

She made her debut in 2012 with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year and with stupendous performances year after year, has proved her mettle.
