After making a smashing debut in China by grossing a whopping Rs 15 crore on the opening day, it looks like, Aamir Khan-starrer film Dangal is all set to create a new record.
If all goes well, the sports biopic based on the real life of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita, will become the next film after SS Rajamouli directorial Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark.
According to the social media strategist Ramesh Bala, the worldwide collection of Khan’s wrestling drama after its release in China has not only crossed over Rs 950 crores, but has also successfully managed to give a run to Hollywood film Guardians of Galaxy Vol 2 for the money.
Film trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, also took to Twitter to give an overall figure of the box office collection in China.
Aamir Khan is the only Bollywood actor whose three blockbuster films, including 3 Idiots and PK, have released in China in the past.
Usually, China permits the screening of 34 foreign films in a year, of which Indian quota was fixed to two. Now, recently, they decided to increase increase the quota of Indian films to be screened from two to four as two joint productions, Kung Fu Yoga and Buddies fared well in India, notching up good box office collection.
