When he finished the book, which took almost twenty years, Marquez told a friend it could either be his greatest work, or the reason he shoots himself. A Hundred Years Of Solitude is told in the same way his grandmother narrated stories to him. The point where an author by passes the line between fiction and reality in such a way that the reader ceases to realize where fiction begins and reality ends, that’s the point where we realize the brilliance of the author.
