Once A Stray, Indian Dog Chapati Is Now Travelling The World With Her Ukrainian Parents

Wanderlust brought a Ukranian couple to India’s Kochi and fate fixed their meeting with a dying pup which required immediate attention. The couple looked after her and she ended up becoming their companion for life.

Kristina Masalova and Eugene Peterus left their country in search of a ‘perfect place’ they could call home. On their third day in Kochi, which happened to be their first destination, they found a little puppy, starving, dehydrated, and in desperate need of medical attention.

The couple did what any other thoughtful human would do. They took her along and cared for her until she was well enough to walk on all fours.

Now, this little pooch turned out to be one happy and bouncy dog and the couple ditched their initial plan of looking for someone to adopt her.

Instead, they decided she was going to be a family member and named her Chapati after their favourite Indian bread, with which she shared her tan colour.

As they proceeded with their journey in India, the couple realized the aversion of locals towards adopting Indian street dogs and their lack of awareness about them.

So, they decided to chronicle Chapati’s journey on social media and let people know just how friendly and perfect pets Indian pariah dogs could be. And that’s how travelingchapati came into being.

They often face difficulties while preparing her documents when they’re travelling to different countries and face challenges at places that don’t allow dogs. But despite that, Kristina and Eugene never think of leaving her behind.

So far, Chapati has travelled to India, Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, and is currently enjoying in the Philippines with her parents.

And her hoomans say that the adorable dog makes for an easygoing travel partner.

Here’s Chapati relaxing by the Varkala beach in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Great going, Chapati!
