There are so many things we come across every day but when it comes to knowing their names, we (generally) have NO idea about it and either end up pointing it out or using sentence(s) to describe it. For example, how do you explain it to someone over the phone if you get a pimple on the-groovy-part-between-your-nose-and-the-middle-part-of-the-upper-lip? Instead of using fourteen words to describe that suddenly–pimply part, isn’t it easier to just replace it with one word – ‘philtrum’?
One word and a good memory – that’s all it takes to reduce chances of confusion.
