It’s difficult to love a banker — capitalist tendencies with stodgy jargon and a mind-boggling ability to do mental math like tossing masala peanuts into your mouth — it is difficult to love a banker. But then one man rises from the dust of greying hairs, breaks down the barriers of economics and policy, and speaks to us in the only language that we understand en masse — punchlines!
Call me what you will, but the RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan , was the fair deal that was left to us in the face of crony capitalism and some borderline-totalitarian times. The economist has reined in the the economic crisis, shown keen foresight and can be credited with making economics and policy relevant and oh-so-sexy.
