Our brain is so hard-wired to technology, that we find it difficult to stay away from it for long. Technology, like any other thing, comes as a double-edged sword. It makes life easy, but also comes with certain hazards. We love to text, share images, watch videos on our smartphones, to the extent that we often end up snoozing with our phones under our pillows. But do you know it could harm you in more ways imaginable.
Here’s what might happen if you sleep with your phone under your pillow:
You could set your pillow on fire!
I kid you not! A Texas teen was once woken up by a burning smell. It turned out her Samsung phone, which was under her pillow, had partially melted! There is a risk of fire if your gadget is covered by a bedding or a thick material.
It disrupts your sleep pattern
Phones and even other gadgets emit “blue light”, which inhibits the production of the hormone called melatonin, which induces sleep. Therefore, it is always advisable to power-off all electronics at least two hours before bed-time, for a sound sleep.
It enhances the probability of cancer
Reports suggest that the harmful radiations emitted by cell-phones can even cause cancer. Proximity to your cellphone during sleep also makes you vulnerable to muscle pain and headache.
