This single is one of those EDM tracks that came out in the early 2000’s that served as a starting point for the rise of EDM across the planet. 2. “Animals” by Martin Garrix
In 2013, Martin Garrix’s Animal was a festival favourite. And at the age of 17, he became the youngest person to top the Beatport charts. With Animal, which topped charts in over 10 countries, Garrix arrived at the EDM scene and gained immense popularity. Currently he’s the 3rd best DJ in the world!

3. “Tremor” by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
This song was the official anthem of Tomorrow Land 2014. What more do we have to say?

4. “Firestones” by Kygo
Featuring vocals from Australian singer Conrad Sewell, this song marked the arrival of Norwegian DJ Kygo, who brought in a breath of fresh air into the EDM scene. What’s more, the song’s video on YouTube currently has more than a 100 million views!

5. “Wake Me Up” by Avicii
You can’t call this song a lyrical masterpiece. But what little lyrics it had, were replete with meaning and inspiring as well. When it came out, it became the anthem for every 20-something around the world. It also gave Avicii his first big break at the age of 19! Some credit his song with bringing EDM into the mainstream.
6. “I Remember” by Deadmau5 and Kaskade
What do you get when two of the best DJs on the planet come together? The ultimate party song! Even though it was released as early as 2010, this song has stuck around through the years and has got ample amount of airplay on TV channels, radios and clubs all around the world. This groovy dance number started the trend that continues even today; it paved the way for popular DJs to come together and collaborate.
7. “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” by Skrillex
Skrillex made the whole drum and bass trend mainstream. Suddenly, everyone was grooving to it. A new dimension was added to the electronic dance music scene and people soon discovered that there is more to EDM than just random beats on loop. He really dropped the bass with this one.
8. “OMI – Cheerleader” Remix by Felix Jaehn
“Cheerleader” is a song recorded by Jamaican singer OMI. It was then remixed by a young German DJ, Felix Jaehn. He eschewed much of the song’s original instrumentation and created a tropical-flavored deep house rendition. The song became a massive global success in 2015. “Cheerleader” reached number one in 20 countries. And Felix Jaehn had arrived.

9. “Riverside” by Sidney Samson
“Riverside” is a house song released by DutchDJSidney Samson. The “Riverside, mother-fucker!” proclamation is the voice of Tupac Shakur sampled from the film Juice. The song is often censored during prime time, to avoid causing offence. Well, we’re not going to get offended, are we?

10. “GHOSTS N STUFF” by Deadmau5
Deadmau5 is knowing for whipping up some bat-crazy stuff when it comes to his music. Thus, it came as no surprise when he got the lead singer of the electronic rock band, Pendulum, Rob Swire, to do the vocals on this one. The track reached number one on the magazine’s Hot Dance Airplay chart after 24 weeks of charting, thus making the single the longest song to climb the number one ever on the chart.
