1. Gaztelugatxe, Spain

This man-made bridge has around 237 steps that leads to a hermitage.

Gaztelugatxe is a small island which is connected to the coast by a narrow path. It is a man-made bridge that goes up 237 steps to the hermitage. 

2. Multnomah Falls, Oregon,  USA

Benson Bridge spans the lower of two falls called Multnomah Falls.

Multnomah Falls was formed as a result of the Missoula Floods. Benson Bridge spans the lower of two falls called Multnomah Falls.

3. Ponte Vecchio, Florence, Italy

Ponte Vecchio is noted for still having shops built along it.

4. Glenfinnan Viaduct, Scotland

Glenfinnan Viaduct is the longest concrete railway bridge in Scotland.

5. Charles Bridge, Prague, Czech Republic

Charles Bridge is protected by three bridge towers.

This historical bridge is 621 metres long and nearly 10 metres wide. It rests on 16 arches shielded by ice guards and is protected by three bridge towers.

6. Puente Nuevo, Spain

Puente Nuevo took 42 years to build.

This bridge divides the city of Ronda, in southern Spain. It was started in 1751 and took 42 years to build. Not only this, fifty workers were killed during its construction. At present, it contains an exhibition describing the bridge’s history and construction.

7. Khaju Bridge, Isfahan, Iran

Khaju Bridge works as a dam and regulates the flow of the Zayandeh river

Built at the request of a Persian King in the 17th century, the Khaju bridge links both sides of the Zayandeh river. This beautiful bridge has 23 stone arches and also functions as a dam.

Ponte dei Sospiri is an enclosed bridge in Venice, Italy.

This bridge is made up of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It was built in 1600 and was designed by Antonio Contino.

12. The Natural Bridge, Virginia

The Natural Bridge consists of horizontal limestone strata.

It is a geological formation that formed a natural arch 215 feet high with a span of 90 feet.

13. Banpo Bridge, South Korea

Banpo Bridge is also known as the Fountain Bridge.

Banpo Bridge was completed in 1982 but it was 2009 when the fountains were actually installed. The water is pumped directly from the river and is recycled continuously. 

14. Rakotz bridge, Germany

Rakotz Bridge is also known as Devil’s Bridge.

Located in the Kronlauer Park in Germany, this architectural marvel is also known as the Devil’s Bridge as it creates an optical illusion in the water making it unusual and dangerous in its appearance.

Rialto Bridge is a raised central arch bridge in Venice.

If we look into the history, Rialto Bridge allowed for large boat traffic on the city’s Grand Canal during its marine trading heyday. Today the bridge is one of the most visited landmarks in Venice.
